Brothers Jakob and Henrik Ingebrigtsen of Norway stole the show on Thursday night at the 2018 Payton Jordan Invitational, as 17-year-old Jakob dusted Olympic medalists Matthew Centrowitz and Paul Chelimo in the 1500m and Henrik won the 5K in a thrilling photo finish over Riley Masters in Palo Alto, California.

The highly anticipated Payton Jordan Invitational is this Thursday at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. The meet is one of the most competitive annual domestic track meets, and this year is no exception. Check out the entries here and read on to learn more about the women's 5K field.
Olympic silver medalist and World Championship bronze medalist Paul Chelimo joins Jojo and Kevin to discuss Thursday’s 1500m race at the Payton Jordan Invitational, his goals for 2018, a recent 10x400m workout that he did at 7000' elevation, bouncing back from a DQ at the World Indoor Championships, nutrition advice from his mom, and how he decides what to tweet.
Last year’s Payton Jordan 10,000m came down to the final 200 meters with Mo Ahmed, Patrick Tiernan, and Shadrack Kipchirchir all in contention for the victory in Palo Alto, California. Tiernan accelerated around the final curve and raced to the finish in 27:29.80, holding off Ahmed in the homestretch. Kipchirchir didn’t have the closing speed to keep pace, taking third in 27:32.18.
Since 2015, the Payton Jordan Invitational 5000m and Justyn Knight have been making magic in Palo Alto, California. Three times Knight has raced at the meet as a member of the Syracuse Orangemen, and three times he’s walked away with a lifetime best.
