TERRENCE TRAMMELL: Technique | Breaking Down the Race Piece by Piece
Dec 12, 2011
Terrence Trammell breaks down running the hurdles piece by piece. He notes how running from the block through the first three hurdles allows a runner to find his rhythm. A runner should try to set the tone at the start before falling into his rhythm afterwards...Trammell notes that this final stretch should be done as quickly and effortlessly as possible. It is the beginning of the race, however, that an athlete needs to train hardest for. To warm up, an athlete can begin by firing off the block to clear just one hurdle but should ultimately progress to clear multiple hurdles in succession, usually three.
