The track & field world had some great action all across the country this weekend. There were some great performances up in the rainy Northwest, at the University of Oregon Twilight Meet. Flotrack witnessed some hot battles down in the Southeast, at the Florida State Champs). And the Northeast saw some historic rivalries renewed, at Ivy League Heps. There really were standout performances all over.

Here are some of the highlights:

The Florida 3A/4A State Meets featured a few nationally recognized sprinters battling for statewide bragging rights. The big question coming into the meet was whether Marvin Bracy, the #1 ranked 100 runner from Boone, Florida, would come away with the state record. Bracy answered ... in prelims! The junior ran 10.31 (10.39 in finals in a 1.6 headwind) to set an impressive new state mark.

However, Bracy may have been upstaged by Robin Reynolds of Jackson HS, as the junior won 4 gold medals, in the long jump, 100, 200 and 400. Furthermore, her 53.91 victory in the 400 was good for a 2.5 second win! The 4A Boys 400 was much closer, as the nation's #1 ranked 400 runner, Hugh Graham Jr., was upset by Arman Hall (previously #3) in a terrific race. Hall finished hard the final stretch, pulling away to a 46.22 win (Graham Jr. finished second in 46.72). Hall now tops the nation and Graham Jr. is #2.



Full Florida State Meet Coverage

The Ivy League Heps meet featured a close finish as well, in terms of the overall team title. Princeton's men were able to complete a sweep for the Tigers (their women also won), winning the 4x400 to wrap up a 197 to 186 victory over Cornell. Princeton rode the strength of Mark Amirault, who won the 1500 and 5k, as well as their depth in the long sprints. Donn Cabral also won the steeple for Princeton in a close finish over Cornell's Adrien Dannemiller (8:41.93 to 8:42.14).

In the women's competition, Princeton also pulled away from Cornell for the win. The highlight here, though, was junior Sharay Hall from  Columbia. Hall won the 200, 400 and 4x400, earning athlete of the meet honors. She dominated the 400 individually, winning in a margin of more than 2 seconds. The Columbia 4x400 pulled away with Hale anchoring for a win of more than 5 seconds, as their 3:37.92 beat second-place Penn considerably at 3:43.48.



Full Ivy League Heptagonal Championships Coverage

The Oregon Twilight meet featured some top performances as well, highlighted by Tyler Mulder's sub-1:45 800 and Nick Symmonds' 2:50 1200 on the Oregon Track Club's victorious DMR. Unofficial splits had Oregon's Elijah Greer at 1:46 low, an impressive split even though he couldn't hold off the former National Champion from Northern Iowa. Brie Flenagle also won over a competitive women's 1500 field, in convincing fashion. For a recap of the Oregon Twilight meet, click here.

At the Lindy Remigino meet in Connecticut, some high schoolers put up huge marks. Connor Rog ran the 4th fastest 2 mile in the country, at 9:20.54. There were two girls who went under 54 in the 400 (US#3 and US#4), as Precious Holmes and Sydnee Over battled right down to the wire. Lindsay Crevoiserat ran the second fastest mile nationally, with her 4:48.25 winning mark.
