USA's were fun.

USA's were fun.
Here are some things you may have missed from this past weekend at the USA Championships:

Richard Karn was a controversial last minute entrant into the boy's 800, and finished third in 1:53.87. The former "Home Improvement" star was a 1974 high school graduate, but recently found a year of eligibility due to some logistical loopholes. His eligibility is still under review, but Richard just looked happy to be back on the track competing.

"This was a big day for me. I lost a big race back at regionals in '74, and it has never really stopped eating at me. So to come back out here 37 years later and...settle the score, so to speak...it's pretty special," Karn said afterward.

Jasmine Chaney of Arizona State held a triple-decker Philly cheesesteak sandwich during the finals of the women's 400 hurdles. She finished third and earned a spot on the World team, but stated afterward that she was a little frustrated at dropping some pretty sizeable portions of her sandwich over the last hurdle.

A 4,000 pound adult male hippopotamus wandered onto the track during the men's 3k steeplechase, but most of the athletes were able to react and continue racing unfazed.

Tom Selleck showed up, dressed to the nines, to talk about his favorites in this fall's Stashies at Nashies. Kevin Selby and Ryan Fenton were in stitches throughout the show as Selleck recounted humorous stories from his time on the set of "Mr. Baseball".

This was obvious but I couldn't help myself. I'll always try to work in a good Shredder reference whenever I can.
