DI Regional Cross Country Rankings – Week 4

October 3, 2011

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released week four regional rankings for the NCAA Division I 2011 season on Monday. New number ones this week include BYU in the men’s Mountain region, Michigan State in the women’s Great Lakes region, Villanova in the women’s Mid-Atlantic region, Colorado in the women’s Mountain region, Arkansas in the women’s South Central region, and North Carolina in the women’s Southeast region.

MEN – Toledo (Great Lakes), Akron (Great Lakes), Bucknell (Mid-Atlantic), Missouri (Midwest), Wichita State (Midwest), Buffalo (Northeast), Furman (Southeast).

WOMEN – Utah Valley (Mountain), Montana State (Mountain), Eastern Kentucky (Southeast), UNCG (Southeast).

The national week four coaches’ poll will be released on Tuesday.

Next week will be a "repeat" week, meaning that rankings released this week will also apply for next week. The next regular regional rankings will be released on October 17.

USTFCCCA Regional Cross Country Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning team strength with current-season results in determining predicted team finishes at the NCAA Regional Championships.
