USTFCCCA DI Regional Cross Country Rankings -- Week 6

NOTE: Next week will be a “repeat” week again for the polls and rankings. There will not be a release next Monday. The next regular regional release on October 31 will be in the late afternoon as a handful of conferences conduct championships on that Monday morning. Our “conference championship central” page should be ready to view sometime this week!

DI Regional Cross Country Rankings – Week 6

October 17, 2011

NEW ORLEANS - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released week six regional rankings for the NCAA Division I 2011 season on Monday. New number ones this week include both men's and women's teams at Texas who now top the South Central rankings, Virginia's women is the new leading team in the Southeast region, and Washington's women take the helm as the No. 1 team in the West.

New to their respective region's top 15 for the first time this season this week are the following:

MEN - ULM (South Central), Western Kentucky (Southeast), Gonzaga (West).

WOMEN - Xavier (Great Lakes), North Dakota State (Midwest), North Texas (South Central), Ark.-Little Rock (South Central), Charlotte (Southeast), High Point (Southeast), Boise State (West).

The national week six coaches' poll will be released on Tuesday.

Next week will be a "repeat" week, meaning that rankings released this week will also apply for next week. The next regular regional rankings will be released late in the afternoon on October 31.

USTFCCCA Regional Cross Country Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning team strength with current-season results in determining predicted team finishes at the NCAA Regional Championships.
