Hoosiers Wrap Things Up at the Indiana Relays

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana track and field wrapped up competition at the Indiana Relays on Saturday. The Hoosiers finished up strong posting national level marks in multiple events.
 
In the menÂ’s 5,000m invitational, Andrew Poore took the win, posting a time of 13:48.27, which is a second slower than his time from earlier this season. The time is still the fifth best nationally this season.
 
Monique Riddick launched the Big TenÂ’s best throw of the year in the shot put, taking fourth in the invitational section. Her throw of 16.21m (53-2.25) ranks 10th in Division I this season. Riddick also posted the sixth best throw in the Big Ten this season in the weight throw, at 18.85m (61-10.25). Riddick moves into fifth in IU history in the weight throw.
 
Kelsie Ahbe took third in the womenÂ’s invitational pole vault, clearing 4.10m (13-5.25) to move into second in the Big Ten and 11th in Division I this season.
 
Chelsea Blanchard posted the best time in the Big Ten this season in the womenÂ’s 3,000m invitational, taking third to two unattached runners with a time of 16:41.96. The time is fourth best in Div. I this season.
 
In the 800m invitational, Ruth Christopher took second with a time of 2:10.80, which ranks 2nd in the Big Ten and 14th nationally this season. In the open 800m, Ashley Seymour clocked a time of 2:12.15 for second. SeymourÂ’s time ranks fifth in the Big Ten this season.
 
In the menÂ’s invitational high jump, Derek Drouin competed unattached, making his first appearance in competition since injuring his foot in the outdoor season last year. The three-time NCAA champion competed from a short approach of four steps and cleared 2.09m (6-10.25) for fourth place.
