Louisville Track and Field Travels to Drake Relays, Bellarmine Classic
The Cardinals’ high jumpers will compete at the Drake Relays, with the remaining competitors at the Bellarmine Classic.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. –
The University of Louisville track and field teams will split squads this weekend, with the team’s high jumpers heading to the Drake Relays and the remaining competitors participating
in the Bellarmine Classic.
On Friday, April 27, Michelle Theophille, Megan Schubert, Maggie Gilbertson and Taylor Caldwell are slated to compete at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, at Drake Stadium.
The women’s high jump begins at 2 p.m. ET, and the men’s section follows at 6 p.m. ET. Theophille currently is tied for 16th nationally in the event after clearing a collegiate-best 1.80m/5-10.75.
Eighteen Cardinals will be in action on Saturday, April 28, at the Bellarmine Classic in Louisville.
Wesley Smith and Seon Powell open competition for Louisville with the men’s long jump at 11 a.m. Margret Harris will participate in the women’s portion of the event at 1
p.m. before racing in the 100m and 200m events. Other field event competitors consist of Malina Simmers (triple jump), Andrew Nelson (discus) and Kevin Jackson (pole vault).
On the track, Calvin Arsenault begins the day for the Cardinals with the 110m hurdles. He broke the 13-year-old school record last week in the event, with a winning time
of 14.08. The mark ranks fourth in the conference.
Later in the day, Luke Lovelace, Andrew Stewart and Evan Hibbs are scheduled to run the men’s 800m, while Maria Frigo, who’s also running the 1,500m race, will take part
in the women’s 800m.
The Cardinals conclude the day with Ryan Eaton in the men’s 5,000m and Ariel Briggs, Madie Davidson, Paige Dooley, Megan Klein, Holly Knight and Cassie Martin in the women’s
5,000m. Davidson and Knight each have qualified for the BIG EAST Championships in the event.
