DI Rankings: Florida, Clemson Up Top With Regular Season Ending Soon

May 8, 2012

NEW ORLEANS – One week remains in the regular season of outdoor track & field for those in NCAA Division I and several conferences will conduct their championships in the coming days. As we roll towards the end of the season, Florida's men retained their No. 1 status in the USTFCCCA National Team Computer Rankings for the second-straight week. The Gators will be looking for the SEC title this weekend where No. 6 Arkansas is the defending champ. On the women's side, the top spot has switched for the third-straight week as Clemson climbed back to the top -- a week removed from Texas' takeover in the last update. Clemson gained their third-straight ACC crown back in April.

In the men's rankings, Texas A&M is holding on to the No. 2 spot and will be trying for their second-straight Big 12 outdoor crown before leaving the league for the SEC next season. Texas Tech is up seven spots this week to No. 3 while Florida State moved up a spot to No. 4. Arizona State dropped two spots to No. 5.

On the women's side, LSU moved up two spots to No. 2 and, will hosting this weekend, they will be looking for their third-straight SEC crown. Texas slipped two spots to No. 3 while Florida went a notch down to No. 4. Kansas is at No. 5 for the second-straight week.
