DI Rankings: Regular Season Done, Texas A&M and LSU are Latest No. 1s

May 15, 2012

NEW ORLEANS – The regular season is over and only the NCAA Championships are left for NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field. Preliminary rounds for the national championships will be held next weekend, May 24-26, and the final rounds will be held June 6-9 in Des Moines, Iowa. Using the full lot of data from the regular season — and, after many conference championships this past weekend — we have two new No. 1 teams. Texas A&M’s men have taken over the top spot for the second time this year and are looking to win a fourth-straight national title in the coming weeks. LSU’s women are now No. 1 after winning the SEC title. LSU is the fourth women’s team to be No. 1 this outdoor season.
