The 50th Edition of the Prefontiane Classic continues to reveal headliners, and another three big names were announced today (4/10). Meet organizers have announced that Jakob Ingebrigtsen, Yared Nuguse and Cole Hocker will race in the Bowerman Mile in 2025.

Meet organizers have confirmed that Yared Nuguse will race the mile at the Last Chance National Qualifier at Boston University on Sunday, March 2, in what is expected to be a World Record attempt. The Last Chance National Qualifier at BU will be streamed LIVE on FloTrack.

Never before has a national high school record been broken in back-to-back races.

HONOLULU (08-Dec) -- In the most important race of the year, an unexpected snafu forced Dani Jones to re-calibrate her entire season. But that crushing setback ended up fueling an inspired --and inspiring-- summer of racing, including a long-overdue personal best in her signature event.

RIGA (29-Sep) -- When Sam Prakel won his second USATF road mile title last April at the Grand Blue Mile in Des Moines he had no idea he had set a world record.  In fact, he wouldn't find that out for more than four months until World Athletics ratified his mark of 4:01.21 as the inaugural world record.  The global governing body for athletics had set a benchmark of 3:50.00, but since no athlete had hit that standard by September 1, Prakel got the record because he set one of the few quality road mile marks which met the stringent standards for course certification and configuration, timing precision, and drug testing.

EUGENE -- Yared Nuguse shattered the American record in the Bowerman Mile, finishing second to Norway's Jakob Ingebrigtsen in 3:43.97 at the Diamond League Prefontaine Classic at Hayward Field.

The 2023 Wanda Diamond League season has reached its climax. With all 13 qualifying meets now complete, all attention turns to the finale this weekend at The Prefontaine Classic in Eugene.

NEW YORK -- For the third consecutive year athletes from Scotland won the men's and women's professional divisions of the New Balance Fifth Avenue Mile, held here for the 42nd time.  On the men's side reigning World Athletics 1500m champion Josh Kerr closed his dream 2023 season with a convincing two-second victory, running the fastest winning time at this event in 28 years: 3:47.9.  Reekie, who finished fifth in the recent World Athletics Championships 800m, won for the second time in three years in a more tactical race, clocking 4:19.4.  Both winners splashed their way to victory as the race was held on a wet roadway after several heavy downpours.
